The Long Goodbye

Dear Soul,

Welcome to the very first edition of The Storyteller’s Journal. I’ve created this space as a sanctuary for us to pause, breathe, and journey inward together. My intention is to offer you reflections, healing insights, and soul medicine that speak not just to the mind, but to the heart and spirit.

So often, our world asks us to move faster, achieve more, and silence the deeper whispers of the soul. The Storyteller’s Journal is my way of slowing things down, of reminding you that your healing, your growth, your transformation - it all begins within. Here, you’ll find gentle guidance, stories of awakening, inspiration and practices that help you return to yourself.

For those of you who may be new to my work, I am Jodie, a Soul Deep hypnotherapist and regressionist who walks with others on the path of understanding , knowing and deep healing. My calling is to help uncover the root causes that keep us bound, so we can release what no longer serves and step into the fullness of who we truly are.

This is not just a newsletter - it’s a soul-to-soul conversation.

Last night, just as the sun began to set, I received a message from the husband of a client who has become very dear to me. Over time, this family had welcomed me into their home and into their hearts, treating me not as a visitor but as one of their own. His request was simple, yet profound: would I come to the hospital to sit by her bedside, to hold space for her as she reached the threshold of her final moments, so her family could rest.

This stage of life is so delicate, so sacred - bittersweet in a way that words can never fully hold. It is a space of storytelling and laughter as memories are recalled, of tears and trembling voices, of silence heavy with meaning. It is a place where sobs come from the deepest chambers of the heart.

I stayed with this family through the night, and as dawn broke and the first light of morning touched the sky, I witnessed love in its purest, rawest form. I saw the love of a daughter for her mother, who had shaped her into a strong, radiant woman. I saw the love of a husband who had shared his life with his beloved - speaking tender words to her, holding her hand, playing her favourite songs, kissing her softly, telling her she was everything he had ever wished for, and giving her permission to let go.

This is love. True love. Love that is timeless, fierce, heartbreaking, and eternal. Love that expands the soul while breaking it open all at once. We love, knowing there will come a time when we must let go - whether as the one leaving, or the one staying. And still, we love. Because the beauty of love is not in its permanence on Earth, but in its eternal presence in the soul.

Throughout the night, as I held space, I also felt the presence of energy moving through the room - gentle visitors who came and went, ensuring the way was clear for this beautiful soul’s journey. I felt the unseen preparing her path: the reunion with loved ones who had gone before, the shedding of the burdens gathered in this lifetime, the beginning of her life review. What I witnessed was not an ending, but a sacred passage.

Love has a way of stretching us far beyond what we ever thought our hearts could hold. It expands us in the moments of joy, laughter, intimacy, and shared life. And yet, love also asks of us the most profound surrender - especially when it is time to release the hand we’ve held, to loosen our grip on the form of love we have always known.

For those left behind, this surrender can feel like devastation. Grief is the shadow side of love; it is the ache that proves just how deeply we have allowed ourselves to be touched. But when we witness a soul at the threshold, something shifts. We begin to see that what feels like loss for us is, for them, the beginning of a new adventure -the next chapter of their journey.

Their departure is not an ending, but a homecoming. They are stepping into the arms of the unseen: welcomed by ancestors, embraced by friends and loved ones who have gone before, held by the eternal. The human heart breaks open in grief, yes - but through those cracks, the light of eternity shines through.

This is the paradox of love. It is both the sweetest gift and the deepest initiation. It calls us into joy, then calls us into surrender. It teaches us that nothing is ever truly lost - only transformed.

And perhaps that is what we are here to remember: to love fiercely, knowing one day we must let go, and to let go with the faith that love does not die - it simply changes form.

May you know a love so deep, so strong, so bold that it cracks your heart wide open.

May you feel the beauty that lives within the unknown, and may fear loosen its grip as you surrender into the arms of love itself.

Perhaps the greatest challenge, and the greatest gift we are given in this lifetime is to love so fiercely that even fear is transformed. May your love become the balm that softens surrender, the light that guides you through the darkness, and the reminder that nothing is ever truly lost, only changed.

With love,

Jodie x
